A bridge in Baltimore, a city in US state of Maryland, was collapsed into the Patapsco River on Tuesday after it was hit by a cargo ship, said multiple reports.
Videos circulating on social media shows the 3-kilometer (1.6-mile) long Key Bridge, which carries Baltimore’s I-695 beltway, collapsing into the water.
“All lanes closed both directions for incident on I-695 Key Bridge. Traffic is being detoured,” the Maryland Transportation Authority said in a post on social media platform X.
Causalities are feared in the incident, said local police in a statement.
