Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that the government will provide all possible resources for the beautification besides maintaining the cleanliness condition of the cities.
He stated this while chairing a high-level meeting held at the Committee Room of Punjab Investment Board on Friday on special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
The heads of various development agencies were also present on this occasion. Important decisions were taken in the meeting for enhancing the beautification of Lahore city besides redressing the parking and traffic-related issues.
While addressing the meeting, Mian Aslam Iqbal said all development agencies will have to complete the development projects within the stipulated timeframe. Lahore is a heart of Pakistan and it will turn into a beautiful and clean city. The entry and exit points of the city will be improved especially, he added.
The minister directed the concerned agencies to remodel the important squares of the city to reduce the pressure of traffic. He further directed to plant flowers and install high-quality street lights to beautify the important roads. A phased wise program will be started for making the city beautiful and to improve the condition of roads. In the first phase Mall Road will be improved as a pilot project.
Mian Aslam Iqbal said that unnecessary parking and lots of advertisements has affected the beauty of the city. He directed to take steps for curbing unnecessary parking stands and advertisements. He directed to evolve a plan for the rehabilitation and beautification of underpasses.
