Says Pakistan leaves Sri Lanka behind in inflation
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Asad Umar blasted the imported government the current economic mess and said that the government should take steps to pull the country out of the economic quagmire instead of spending time on keeping innocent people in jails.
Asad Umar urged that instead of working hard to keep these innocent people detained, the government should spend its time taking the people out of the extreme economic hardship
PTI leader said: “Thanks to the tireless hard work of our lawyers, the release of thousands of workers was made possible. However, innocent people in huge numbers are still detained.”
About the backbreaking inflation, Asad Umar said that Pakistan has left Sri Lanka far behind in inflation, as Pakistan had the highest inflation rate in Asia. He said that Pakistan witnessed the record breaking inflation during the past 75-year.
Asad compared that inflation rate in Pakistan was 38% and in India it was only 4.7%. He raised question that where was man who went out to end inflation by selling his clothes. Meanwhile the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Leader Hammad Azhar strongly condemned the torture of PTI senior leader Main Mehmood ur Rasheed and abduction of human rights activist Jibran Nasir.
In a statement on Friday, PTI senior leader said that Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed, 75, former leader of opposition in Punjab Assembly and former minister gave a statement on record in front of a judge that he was tortured in custody.
He demanded that this should be thoroughly investigated as to what has the IG done to probe this issue so far. Reacting to Jibran Nasir abduction, Hammad Azhar said that the abduction of human rights activist was highly condemnable.
“He has always raised his voice for democracy, rule of law and the rights of citizens,” PTI leader added.
Hammad urged that stop turning Pakistan into North Korea, as it will not work.
About the economic meltdown, he said that last 14 months have induced a loss of confidence amongst entrepreneurs in Pakistan. “The scale of hopelessness can be compared to Bhutto’s disastrous nationalisation drive of the 70’s from which the country has still not recovered,” he added. “Restore rule of law before its too late,” he added.
