In a recent address at the Pakistan Day ceremony, Asad Qaiser, a prominent figure within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Speaker, delivered a passionate speech emphasizing the need for fair by-elections and unity within the nation. Qaiser began by asserting, “This is not the country of anyone’s father,” underlining the importance of democratic principles and the rule of law. Highlighting the upcoming by-elections in Punjab, Qaiser pledged to mobilize massive rallies, reaffirming the PTI’s commitment to peaceful political participation. He called for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate any potential interference in the electoral process, urging accountability for those responsible.
Qaiser emphasized the founding vision of Pakistan by Quaid-e-Azam and rejected any attempts to subvert democratic norms or impose decisions arbitrarily. “We have to continue the struggle according to the constitution and law,” he asserted, reiterating the PTI’s commitment to upholding constitutional values. Expressing concerns about strained relations with neighboring countries, particularly India and Afghanistan, Qaiser stressed the need for diplomacy and adherence to constitutional processes. He urged Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and other leaders to govern in accordance with the constitution and law to facilitate national progress.
In a direct message to the authorities, Qaiser warned against exceeding limits and called for the restoration of democratic rights and freedoms.
