In a bid to enhance the livability and aesthetics of Quetta, Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat has undertaken a rigorous review of the ongoing anti-encroachments and cleanliness campaign launched throughout the city.

With the holy month of Ramzan going on the Quetta Division Administration, under the guidance of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has intensified efforts to ensure pristine sanitation conditions and eradicate encroachments, aimed at providing superior amenities to residents.

Commissioner Shafqaat underscored the significance of addressing cleanliness concerns and reiterated the administration’s commitment to bolstering civic amenities for the citizens of Quetta. Notably, the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) has been mobilized to tackle the monumental task of waste management, employing heavy machinery for daily collection in response to the city’s staggering annual garbage output of approximately 1.5 million tons.

During comprehensive inspections across various locales of Quetta, Commissioner Shafqaat directed QMC officials to prioritize the installation and repair of street lights, ensuring optimal facilities for the forthcoming Ramzan and Eid festivities. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence and complacency, he affirmed swift and stringent actions against any dereliction of duty reported. Under Commissioner Shafqaat’s vigilant supervision, a collaborative effort between QMC and the district administration has been initiated, aiming to revitalize the city’s allure through a multifaceted approach.

Measures encompassing traffic management, encroachment removal, cleanliness drives, and street light restoration have been implemented, heralding a transformative phase for Quetta’s urban landscape. The proactive leadership of Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat underscores a steadfast commitment to upholding Quetta’s status as a clean.—APP
