The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a seminar at its office in Islamabad, Wednesday, to pay tribute to the martyrs of Handwara massacre. At least 21 Kashmiris were mercilessly martyred by Indian troops in Handwara town of Kupwara district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on this day in 1990.

Speakers at the seminar presided over by the APHC-AJK Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, said that Handwara massacre and other such mass killings exposed the real face of India’s democracy. They said Kashmiri martyrs’ sacrifices, which have centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the global level, will not be allowed to go waste and their mission will accomplished at all costs.

They maintained that the Indian brutalities cannot force the Kashmiris to give up their just cause and they will continue their freedom struggle till complete success. They demanded an impartial international probe into all massacres carried out by Indian troops in IIOJK to punish the perpetrators.

The speakers included Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mir Tahir Masood, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Hassan Bana, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqub, Advocate Parvez Ahmed, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Gulshan Ahmed, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Zahid Safi, Raja Khadim Hussain, Haji Sultan Butt, Abdul Majeed Lone, Ashfaq Balwal.—INP
