The Charsadda Police on Thursday said it arrested eight suspects in connection with the sexual assault and murder of a two and half year old girl in Charsadda district.
Sending a wave of shock and resentment among the masses a mutilated dead body of minor girl Zainab was found the day after her abduction in Charsadda on October 6. The two-and-a-half-year-old Zainab was reportedly abducted from her hometown Charsadda and her body was found in the fields of Peshawar on October 7. As per the reports, her corpse was mutilated and her chest and abdomen were slit open. The medical authorities confirmed that the minor Zainab was inflicted with sexual abuse and molestation.
“The minor girl was kidnapped and then sexually assaulted before being brutally murdered, and her body bears torture marks”. Police said with Dr. Maimuna at the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital also saying “an initial probe confirmed that the minor had been raped”.The DNA samples sent to Khyber Medical College of Peshawar also confirmed that Zainab was inflicted with sexual abuse 18 hours before the body was found. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Charsadda Sanaullah Abbasi, the police have “gathered some evidence” and the results of the DNA report will further help to trace the culprits behind that gruesome and inhuman act.
The DPO Charsadda Muhammad Shoaib said that a case has been registered against unknown suspects with clauses of kidnapping and murder included. A special investigation team under Superintendent of Police has been formed to probe the matter,
On the other hand the father of the ill-fated minor soul has demanded the authorities for the immediate arrest of the culprits in Charsadda rape and murder case. He also called for publically hanging of those involved in the heinous crime.
In a statement the bereaved father of the 2 and a half year old Zainab said that his daughter was very innocent and beautiful. He added rape and murder of her became a mystery as he has no enmity with anyone.
In the meanwhile, the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan while taking notice of rape and murder incident of an underage girl in district Charsadda, has directed the Inspector General of Police and other relevant authorities for immediate arrest of people involved in incident.
In a statement issued here, the chief minister termed the incident as heart wrenching and gruesome on the part of the ones involved and said that people involved in incident would be brought to justice and given exemplary punishment as per the relevant law. Expressing sympathies with the affected family, the chief minister assured that the culprits involved in the inhumane incident would be given exemplary punishment and justice would be done to the affected family.
