KARACHI – A tragic incident occured at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi KARACHI as a sniffer dog of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) was shot dead.

The poor animal was accidentally killed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi after wandering into a restricted bay area.

A statement issued by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority said the airside team made several attempts to nab the dog but was forced to shoot it to avoid any potential danger to aircraft operations.

The team, following orders from the control tower, struggled to control the dog and decided to shoot the animal to prevent it from reaching the taxiway and runway.

After the shooting, the incident led to investigation, and initial reports indicated that the shooting might have been a mistake by an airport security officer who reckoned the dog to be a stray animal.

At the time of the incident, the dog was in parking bay number 25, where an Etihad Airways plane was being parked.
