GOOD leaders are the ones who feed hope and positivity in their peoples to surmount challenges and take forward the country on the path of development. President Arif Alvi is also amongst those who have often been seen doing the same with substance and clarity of mind.
Addressing the nation after the flag hoisting ceremony on the occasion of Independence Day, the President made a very captivating and inspirational speech enumerating in a threadbare manner the successes achieved by the nation over the years ranging from fighting terrorism and militancy to the pandemic of Covid-19. Indeed we, as a nation, should be proud of all these successes instead of being despondent. And really retrospection of successes also proves to be very encouraging and motivating factor for the people. The very successes counted by the President in his speech are also the ones which proved to be a role model for the world and demonstrated in clear terms the resilience and strength of Pakistani nation. It will not be wrong to say that opportunities today are knocking at our doors and it is a matter of only grabbing them to transform Pakistan into the one envisioned by our founding fathers. It is also for the government to listen and take guidance from saner voices such as President Alvi to take the country in the right direction. How considerately the President sat with the religious scholars ahead of Ramadan and developed SOPs with consensus for mosques to avoid the spread of Covid-19 is known to everybody. Then how extensively he talks about the fourth industrial revolution and the artificial intelligence shows his calibre and how much he is well aware of the developments taking place in the world. Given the knowledge possessed by President Arif Alvi in diverse fields, we suggest the government to always take the advice from him on important issues, if it is really interested to live up to the expectations of the masses.
