It is really an amazing decision of the incumbent government led by charismatic PM Imran Khan to ban plastic and polythene shopping bags in the federal capital to make the environment pleasant and healthy. But after the ban on plastic and polythene shopping bags in capital, several printing factories shut down their operations as a result the owners of factories including poor labourers and workers lost their sources of earning.
According to a report a huge number of people working on daily wages with plastic bag distribution, wholesale or retail businesses are finding it hard to earn bread. The report further disclosed that the women on the outskirts of federal capital and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, who were running small machines at home for making plastic bags, say their only source of income has been wiped off with the ban.
The decision of the government is praiseworthy and even every individual welcomed and praised them. But the ban on plastic bags affected thousands of people in the capital city after the operations of plastic bags shut down. I appeal to the government to introduce alternative to it so as to give another hope of earning income to those who are victim of this decision. I request the provincial governments to introduce an alternative to each side before taking such a step.
