PML-N senior leader Ahsan Iqbal and PTI government’s firebrand spokesman Dr Shahbaz Gill Sunday clashed on social networking website Twitter on Sunday. The clash started with a tweet posted by the PML-N official Twitter account of a speech made by former Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in which he elaborated on his family’s patriotism to Pakistan and expressed his resolve to make Pakistan great again. Replying to Ahsan Iqbal, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill in a tweet claimed: “You are lying (Ahsan Iqbal), your grandfather Chaudhary Rana Muhammad Abdul Rehman Khan was in Unionist Party and was defeated in an election against Pakistan Muslim League’s candidate Mian Zahid Sarfraz.” Shahbaz Gill claimed that Ahsan Iqbal’s forefathers were against the creation of Pakistan. Shahbaz Gill further alleged: “Just like your grandfather, Ahsan Iqbal’s mother was the cabinet member of General Ziaul Haq. And you praise General Ziaul Haq with the utmost respect.” “Enough is enough. People laugh when you give lectures on democracy and Khawaja Asif gives lectures on respect for women,” he added. The clash did not stop here.
