Sindh Minister for Human Settlements and Special Development Ghulam Murtaza Baloch has said that action will be taken against the owners and contractors of illegal multi-storeyed buildings located in the Katchiabadies.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Sindh Katchiabadies Authority chaired by Ghulam Murtaza Baloch. Regional Directors including Secretary Ahmed Bakhsh Narijo, Director General Anjum Iqbal were also present in the meeting.
Secretary Katchiabadies gave briefing on budget and authority. It was also decided that the proposed budget of Katchiabadies Authority of Rs 417.383 million for the year 2019-20 would be presented in the Sindh Cabinet meeting.
The Provincial Minister instructed Secretary Katchiabadies to survey multi-storeyed buildings in Katchiabadies and said that in the first phase, survey of large buildings should be done and NOCs of the relevant authorities of the high rise buildings should be checked.
He also directed the Secretary Katchiabadies to form an inquiry committee on the issue of lease challan of vacant plots in de notified Bedal Colony Karachi and report of the proposed inquiry committee should be submitted within a week.
He also directed the regional directors of Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Larkana and Sukkur to work together with commissioners and deputy commissioners to increase the collection of dues.
Murtaza Baloch said that construction of illegal multi-storeyed buildings in the Katchiabadies was illegal and the action would be taken against owners and contractors of such buildings, adding that no one is above the law. He directed to Regional Directors to play their role in achieving the targets and said that only the officers who are performing well will be given posting and strict action will be taken against those who perform poorly.—INP
