An accountability judge was murdered by the firing of docoits for putting up resistance during dacoity bid at his house situated in the limits of Rawat police station in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
As per details, some armed dacoits broke into the house of accountability Judge Sardar Amjad Ilyas. His house was situated in a private housing society. The burglars opened fire at the judge when he put up resistance during the break-in. As a result, Judge Ilyas died on the spot.
Police immediately reached the crime scene.
They said that during the robbery, a dacoit received a bullet and got injured and later he was arrested by the law personnel. Judge Ilyas was serving in the accountability court of Mirpur. According to Police, Judge Amjad was on long leave. The robbers tried to take his son hostage but the judge retaliated and opened fire at dacoits. Upon which, the dacoits shot dead the judge and fled from the scene. Police said robbers did not able to loot anything from the house.
Rawalpindi CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani has taken notice of the judge’s murder and sought a report from the concerned police officials. Police and Rescue personnel shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem. Police said they were investigating the incident from every angle. Moreover, Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta on Tuesday strongly condemned the murder of Senior Session Judge of Azad Jammu and Kashmir SardarAmjadIshaq in Rawat police jurisdiction. He said this talking to the media persons at residence of the deceased judge along with Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Khurram Ali Shah. The commissioner said the senior sessions Judge always played a key role in dispensing justice. He expressed deep sorrow and grief over the brutal killing the Judge during house robbery attempt.
He prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
On the occasion, the RPO said that the investigation of the arrested accused involved in the incident was underway, adding they would be brought to justice soon.
Judge Shot dead in Rawalpindi during house robbery attempt
Earlier on Tuesday, unknown gunmen shot dead a NAB court District & Session Judge Azad Jammu and Kashmir who showed resistance during a robbery attempt in the Rawat area. The local police team rushed to crime scene soon after the incident. Five armed robbers entered the house of Judge SardarAmjadIshaq and made family hostage on gunpoint. While the judge offered resistance over robbery attempt, however, the bandits opened fire, resulting in multiple injuries to him.
