Haleem Adil Sheikh, President of PTI Sindh and former Opposition Leader of Sindh Assembly, addressed the media at Adil House Sunday, stating that the PPP has been looting Sindh’s resources for 17 years. “PPP has deprived the people of even basic facilities. In their quest for power, the PPP has orchestrated the plundering of Sindh’s water,” he said.
He also emphasized that the ongoing awareness march from Hyderabad, led by the parties in the Save Sindhu River Movement, is gaining success. “We will inform the public about how the PPP is squandering Sindh’s resources.”
Haleem Adil Sheikh highlighted that while Sindh already suffers from water scarcity, the PPP has now played a significant role in blocking the Indus River’s water, further exacerbating the crisis. “After the destruction of education, healthcare, and infrastructure, the PPP has now played a part in shutting off Sindh’s water,” he added. He affirmed that PTI stands firmly with the people of Sindh and will not allow the usurpation of the province’s water resources. “PPP has played a key role in creating six new canals on the Sindhu River.
The people of Sindh are demanding accountability from the PPP,” Sheikh said. Despite billions in the provincial budget, basic facilities are still out of reach for the public.Sheikh also criticized the incumbent rulers, stating that due to their incompetence, inflation is at an all-time high. Furthermore, the prices of medicines have increased by 300%, further burdening the public.
“The people are fed up with these corrupt rulers. Their time is running out, and soon, justice will prevail,” he declared. On the political front, Haleem Adil Sheikh spoke about the ongoing oppression of PTI leaders, stating that the entire province of Sindh, like the rest of Pakistan, demands an explanation for why the use of force against them was necessary.
“Why are we being subjected to restrictions and why are our workers, including Imran Khan, still not released?” Sheikh questioned, adding that Imran Khan, a great leader of the Muslim world, is currently imprisoned for the sake of the future of the nation’s children.
“We have endured a lot; we have been treated unjustly and have been subjected to terrorist-like treatment,” he said.Sheikh further mentioned that despite Karachi contributing 65% of the country’s tax revenue and 90% of the province’s revenue, its citizens are still deprived of basic facilities, including drinking water.
