PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch a life insurance scheme from January 1, 2025 under which a certain amount will be paid to the families in case of death of their heads.
KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a key meeting where the life insurance scheme and various other projects were discussed.
The cost of the life insurance scheme for citizens has been estimated at Rs4.5 billion annually by the provincial government.
Who Will be Eligible?
Under the insurance scheme, in case of death of the head of the family at a government hospital or a hospital on the health card panel, a sum of money will be paid.
How Much Money Will be Paid to a Family?
In case of death of a person under the age of 60, an amount of Rs1 million will be paid to the aggrieved family, and in case of death of a person above 60 years of age, Rs500,000 will be given by the government.
The chief minister has set a three-month deadline for the establishment of the Provincial Islamic Takaful Insurance Company.
Furthermore, he had directed that the provincial government’s own transmission line Lot-1 be completed within the given timeline at all costs.
