LAHORE – Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore on Thursday postponed all Intermediate Part 2 second annual examinations scheduled for October 18, 2024 Friday amid protests.

In an announcement, BISE Lahore spokesperson said Physics, Home Economics, Geography, Agriculture, and Nursing exam has been called and new examination dates will be shared soon.

This decision comes in light of the Punjab government’s enforcement of Section 144, which prohibits all protests, rallies, and similar activities for two days. The government aims to uphold public order and safety amid rising tensions in the province.

Students and educators are urged to remain vigilant for further updates regarding the rescheduling of these important exams.

Friday School Holiday in Punjab

Punjab education authorities declared a holiday for all schools on October 18 due to student protests following allegations of rape involving a first-year student.

This decision comes amid demands for improved campus safety and accountability for perpetrators. Colleges and universities will also remain closed tomorrow as activists called for justice for the victim.

Protests intensified in Punjab where clashes with police occurred as students demonstrated against the alleged incident. Some students engaged in vandalism and blocked traffic, leading to police intervention. Over 250 students have been arrested for public disorder, with a few detained for spreading misinformation about the case
