MULTAN – The second Test match between Pakistan and England is currently taking place at Multan Cricket Stadium, where Pakistan has suffered an early setback, losing two wickets for just 19 runs.

Opener Abdullah Shafique was dismissed after scoring 7 runs, while captain Shan Masood was sent back to the pavilion after making only 3 runs.

Both wickets were claimed by England’s Jack Leach.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first.

At the toss, Captain Shan Masood expressed his pride in representing Pakistan and highlighted the team’s excitement. He emphasized the importance of spinners in the match, stating, “We have good spinners.” He further remarked that winning a Test match requires taking 20 wickets.

England’s captain Ben Stokes, on the other hand, noted that had they won the toss, they would have also chosen to bat. He expressed satisfaction with his team’s strong performance in the first Test.

Pakistan’s lineup for the second Test includes a debutant, along with three spinners—Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan and Zahid Mahmood.

Other players in the squad are Aamir Jamal, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha.

In the first Test, England secured a victory over Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs.
