Coastal regions of Sindh are expected to hit by strong Cyclone which has been named ‘Asna’. The cyclonic storm will bring heavy rains and strong winds that led to school closures and evacuations in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Sindh government took precautionary measures as storm is predicted to bring widespread rain and thunderstorms, with heavy and very heavy rainfall likely in various districts of Sindh.
Cyclone Asna Warning
As the cyclonic storm hovers around 170km from Pakistan, Met Office issued a warning, urging Karachi residents to take precautions as the cyclone approaches. Authorities advise the public to remain vigilant and prepare for possible damage, particularly in coastal regions.

Cyclone Safety Tips while being Indoor
- If you are very close to region, make sure to turn off outdoor electrical appliances.
- Evacuate if necessary: If your premise is unstable, move to a safer location.
- Try to keep all doors and windows closed and avoid being alone during peak hours.
- If you got power, monitor evacuation notices, weather updates, safety guidance, and advisories.
- Keep limited stock of water and something to eat to pass the duration.

- Make distance from electric poles, sharp objects, and wires to prevent injury.
- Seek shelter ASAP or cover quickly, but do not shelter under structure that might fall.
