Under the Safecity Project’s first phase, locations have been identified for the installation of 1300 cameras, as confirmed in a crucial meeting chaired by IG Sindh GhulamNabiMemon. Various representatives from different police departments participated in the meeting, including DIGs, Headquarters Sindh, CTDO/DIG Safecity, IT, Administration Karachi, Training Sindh, Establishment, RR, CIA, SP RR/Chief Operating Officer Safecity Project, SSP West, AIGs, Operations Sindh, Admin, IT, PD IT Traffic Security, and NRTC representatives. During the meeting, DIG RR, DIG Safecity, and Project Director IT briefed on the agenda.
The installation of these cameras is set to commence soon. Meeting was told that the traffic police officers are also being appointed for internal and external roads with the collaboration of RRF. DIG RR said that the training sessions are also being conducted for police officers. Various recommendations are being worked on to integrate with the Safecityproject.The aim of the meeting was to evaluate the Safecity project and its integration with the project.
