Director General, Radio Pakistan Mrs. Samina Waqar has posted Mr. Muhammad Tariq Chaudhry, a seasoned Broadcast Journalist and Controller of PBC News, as the new Principal of Pakistan Broadcasting Academy, Islamabad.
He has joined his duties and immediately started a fresh planning to revive the past glory of PBA as a vibrant academic institution of Radio Pakistan to enhance capacity of young PBC professionals.
Mr. Muhammad Tariq Chaudhry who is the second senior most Controller News in PBC News hierarchy brings with him a rich experience in all the vital fields of broadcast journalism. Before this assignment he was serving as Controller (Coordination) at PBC News, Islamabad. He is known as a man of principles in Radio Pakistan and his administrative abilities are widely recognized in official and private media. Earlier, he also headed the Reporting, social media and languages sections of PBC News. He also possesses the longest experience of production and presentation of national, foreign, external and regional news bulletins at National News Room, PBC News, Islamabad. He has also served as a senior Editor at Radio Pakistan’s Monitoring Desk and Current Affairs section. He has also headed the PBC Faisalabad and Lahore News Bureaus during the 90s, earning a good repute for coverage of VVIPs and variety of news events. He has won several Awards, Shields, appreciation letters and a gold medal in recognition of his professional achievements. 2000 hours Radio Khabarnama has been his special assignment as “Madeer-e- Aala” (Chief Editor) for the last several years. He is the pioneer of formally introducing voice reporting with actuality inserts in Pakistan on the pattern of BBC.
Mr. Muhammad Tariq Chaudhry also served at PBA Islamabad in 2015-16 as a Vice Principal (News) when he along with his other colleagues conducted a six-month Induction Training Course of 40 Sub Editors, 60 Programme Producers and 30 Broadcast Engineers with distinction. He received a special appreciation letter by the then Director General, PBC Mrs. Saba Mohsin along with an honorarium.
