Resolution of the problems of overseas Pakistanis in the shortest possible time is our top priority. In order to fulfill this mission, we shall introduce more technological advancements so that we could be able to address the grievances of Pakistani expatriates more efficiently, effectively and transparently, said Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Commissioner Passand Khan Buledi while chairing a progress review meeting after assuming his charge.
Expeditious disposal genuine complaints to the best satisfaction of overseas Pakistanis are also among the priorities of this government which is why Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and Chief Secretary Azam Suleman Khan have given the specific directions in this regard. The performance of the commission was satisfactory but we shall leave no stone unturned and no fuel unburnt in bringing more improvement.
District Overseas Pakistanis Committees shall be made more functional and their performance will be monitored on a regular basis, he said. Hardworking and honest officers are an asset to any organization and we shall work like a team to achieve our goals. Placing complaints and suggestions box at the main gate of OPC office was also an attempt to give free access to express the grievances and complaints, he added.
He gave directions to the dealing officers to improve the complaints redressal mechanism. Dealing officers must confirm with the complainants telephonically if their complaint has been resolved before closing it.
Overseas Pakistanis Commission DG Naila Baqir briefed the commissioner regarding the overall performance and said, ‘Overseas Pakistanis Commission has resolved over 4000 complaints in past year retrieving property worth Rs 6 billion including 287 acres of land, vacating 4 houses and 9 shops from illegal possession. The meeting was attended by Director Administration, Director Legal, Director Revenue and other senior officers of OPC.
