A review meeting of local body elections held in Karachi on January 15 was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon in his office on Thursday. All Deputy Commissioners who are also District Returning Officers participated in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioners informed about the details of the arrangements in their respective districts. DCs gave a detailed briefing about staff deployment, delivery of goods and implementation of code of conduct.
The commissioner said that the code of conduct of the Election Commission should be strictly implemented and work should be done in coordination with the Election Commission. It was also decided in the meeting to prevent the gathering of people near the polling station to avoid any untoward incident. No weapons will be allowed.
