Fayyaz Ali Butt, Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr, has said that the government of Sindh is serious about distribution of Zakat to its beneficiaries and biometric process is in full swing to make the distribution of Zakat transparent.
He said this while addressing a meeting of Zakat Council here today. The meeting was held at Sindh Secretariat.The meeting was also attended by Secretary Auqaf Jawed Sibghatullah Mahar, Chairman Zakat Council Niaz Ali Jaisar, Mufti Ferozuddin Hazarawi, Mufti Nazir Jan Naeemi, Ashfaq Israni, Shama Arif Mithani and Madam Shakira Siddiqui.
Addressing the meeting, Fayyaz Ali Butt, Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh, directed the officers to complete the biometrics of the Zakat beneficiaries as soon as possible and ensure the issuance of Zakat as soon as the biometric cards are completed. He further said that Sindh government wants to give Zakat to the beneficiaries in a transparent manner. No corruption will be tolerated in the distribution of Zakat.
Fayyaz Ali Butt said that there are about 110,000 Zakat recipients in Sindh and it is hoped that their biometric verification process will be completed soon.
