After the successful commencement of the Bus Rapid Transit system in the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the system came as a resolve to thousands and thousands of residents of the city.
After the controlled situation of COVID 19 with untiring efforts of Government and departments and resumption of life to its normal state, the commuter ship of BRT has increased remarkably.
Spokesperson Trans Peshawar Muhammad Umair Khan shared that BRT Peshawar reached its highest ever daily ridership count of 254000 passengers. The system has revolutionized transformed public transport service. Earlier to this record-breaking count of ridership the system was observing rise in daily ridership and was serving more than 236,000 commuters daily. Spox BRT also stated that with the increase of daily passengers Trans Peshawar with a preamp and proactive approach increased the duration of Express Route no 1 & 9 and also increased the duration of Stopping route number 8 to accommodate a maximum number of passengers.
He shared that system is serving people with 158 environment-friendly buses and with 9 commuter need-based routes 16 hours a day. He also added that the success of BRT is self-evident by the number of people enjoying the international level public transport service.
The public of Peshawar and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa acknowledges the role of BRT in the city and the transformation of the state-of-the-art public transport system in the provincial capital.
The performance of the system is directly proportional to the support and acknowledgment by the people of Peshawar especially by the passengers of BRT and in addition to this untiring and dedicated effort of the staff, service providers are also in-ignorable. Spokesperson Trans Peshawar also told that during the year 2022 second quarter more buses will be added into the system and remaining and new routes will be commenced in the larger interest of the public.
