In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation due to brutalities of more than one million Indian troops in the territory.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the use of brute force against the civilians and the pushing of the youth to the wall by slapping draconian Public Safety Act (PSA), Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act (TADA) etc and prolonging of their illegal detentions without any legal trial.
Denouncing the recent arrest spree and filling the jails beyond their capacities, he warned that the freedom-loving people of Kashmir had witnessed the worst carnages and brutalities but their heroic characteristics had served as a great source of inspiration for the future generations.
With a strong determination to lead the ongoing resistance movement to its logical conclusion, the people of Kashmir have time and again rejected the forcible occupation of India, affirmed the spokesman.
Terming the prevailing situation highly volatile in presence of one million Indian forces, the spokesman said that it must be a cause of concern for the civilised world to come forward and help resolve the Kashmir dispute by utilising their diplomatic pressures on India who had violated international law and all human and moral values.
He said, the people of Kashmir, demanding their legitimate right to self-determination at the cost of innumerable sacrifices, deserve all help to achieve complete freedom from Indian illegal and forcible occupation.
He urged the United Nations to fulfill its moral and legal obligations in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions at the earliest and stop Indian brutalities killings, arbitrary arrests and human rights abuses at the hands of Indian forces in Kashmir.—KMS
