Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar conducted MDCAT for candidates across KP on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Once the official key becomes available, students can use it to estimate their scores by comparing their attempted answers with the correct responses.

To calculate an expected score, count the number of questions answered correctly. Since there is no negative marking, incorrect answers do not result in a deduction.

MDCAT 2026 was initially scheduled for August 16. The examination was subsequently moved to September 20 following directions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The postponement was followed by an additional registration phase. More than 2,000 candidates joined the registration list after the original examination date was changed. Earlier consolidated figures put the additional registrations at 2,063.

MDCAT 2026 Paper Pattern

The examination consists of 180 multiple-choice questions carrying 180 marks. Candidates are given three hours to complete the paper.

The questions are divided into five sections:

Biology makes up the largest portion of the paper, followed by Chemistry and Physics, while English and Logical Reasoning carry nine questions each.

PMDC prepared a question bank containing approximately 8,000 questions for MDCAT 2026. Around 80 subject experts were involved in developing the examination material. Officials said enhanced security arrangements were used during the question-development process.

Separate provincial papers were then arranged as part of the measures aimed at protecting the examination’s confidentiality.

Each provincial paper contains 180 questions, with at least two different versions prepared for each province.
