A City court on Friday ordered sending the four girls who went missing from Hanjarwal area and later recovered from Sahiwal, with their parents.
Judicial Magistrate Wasim Waris also rejected plea of the Child Bureau Protection for keeping the girls in its facility.
The girls also showed their willingness to go with their parents in the court. Earlier, the girls recorded their statements in the courtroom on Friday.
The Child Protection Bureau produced the girls along with the seven accused including two women in the court.
In their statements, the girls: Kinza, Anam, Ayesha and Samreen said that they want to go to their homes and not to the Child Protection Bureau.
The girls recorded their statements in court. They said they had left their house for a walk and were abducted on the way. The suspects held them hostage at their house and then took them to Sahiwal.
They wanted to marry us off, the girls said. Their initial medical reports submitted in court revealed that the victims were not raped. The final reports will be presented at the next hearing.
They stated that accused Shazia’s husband Shahzad took them to the Orange Line Train. The girls said accused Zainab helped them and she informed the police about their presence in her house.
They stated that accused Zainab provided them with clothes and food. They termed that accused Zainab’s husband was a criminal.
The girls told the court that they wanted to go to their homes and don’t want to be moved to the Child Protection Bureau.
Meanwhile, the medical report of the four girls was also submitted in the court. According to the report, no sexual attempt was made on them. Swab samples of the girls were collected to determine the fact. The samples were sent to a forensic laboratory to establish the truth.
According to the FIR, earlier this week, four girls, between the ages 8, 10, 11, and 14, left their houses for a Metro train ride and did not return.
On Thursday, the four missing girls recovered in Sahiwal were brought back to Lahore, City Police DIG Investigations Shariq Jamal informed the media.
The DIG informed that the girls have been produced in a local upon arrival from Sahiwal. “They have been sent to the Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) after they refused to go back home.”
Shariq Jamal said that now the court will decide whether the girls will be handed back to their parents or moved to a shelter home tomorrow (Friday). According to the law, we can’t force them to go back home if they don’t want to, the DIG said.
