Kashmiris freedom struggle
No words are strong enough to fully acknowledge ongoing Kashmiris decades’ old indigenous freedom struggle against Indian occupation of their territory. Also, no words are enough to condemn and deplore India’s occupation of Jammu & Kashmir against aspirations of the Kashmiris and occupying security forces continued atrocities, brutalities and suppression against unarmed Kashmiris. Kashmiris all around the globe are observing another Black Day today (October 27) to mark forcible occupation of their valley by India this day in 1947.
Pakistan has all along been extending moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiris and this was further intensified when Prime Minister Imran Khan in his maiden speech in the UN General Assembly last month pointedly highlighted Kashmir issue and strongly condemned India’s 05 August illegal and unconstitutional measure of changing special status of Kashmir urging the international community to play its effective role to ensure provision of right of self-determination to the Kashmiris in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
For expressing their unstinted support, Pakistani people led by the Prime Minister have been regularly observing Solidarity Days with Kashmiris on Fridays for awakening the long sleeping world body UNO to implement its own resolutions and urging human rights organizations to stop India from committing gross human rights violations in its occupied Kashmir.
Lingering unresolved Kashmir dispute remains main source of continued tense relations between Pakistan and India. Solution of Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolution will undoubtedly ensure peace not only between the two neighbouring nuclear powers but also usher in lasting and durable peace in the region. Brave and courageous Kashmiris continued indigenous struggle and sacrifices even in curfew-ridden valley will bear fruit soon and they will get their cherished freedom from Indian occupation soon, Inshallah..

Black Day
Kashmiris on both sides of Line of Control (LoC), in Pakistan and all over the world are observing Black Day on 27 October when the State of Jammu and Kashmir was forcibly occupied by India on this day in 1947 following the Hindu Maharaja’s illegal and fake Instrument of Accession although majority wanted to join Pakistan.
The Black Day is being so observed by the Kashmiris around the globe to remind the international community in general including world’s human rights champion USA and the United Nations in particular to honour the commitment for granting them their fundamental right of self-determination in accordance with the resolutions of the world body. Kashmir remains unresolved dispute on UN agenda for the longest period and as a matter of fact is a black spot on the world body which somehow has not been able to implement its own resolutions.
As a matter of fact Prime Minister Imran Khan’s maiden speech in the United Nations General Assembly and extensive, aggressive and forceful diplomatic efforts by Pakistan has internationalized the Kashmir issue. At least now the world leaders and human rights bodies are condemning India which has put the valley under indefinite curfew since 5 August 2019, after changing its special constitutional status. Pakistan has all along been supporting just cause of the Kashmiris and their indigenous struggle for freedom from Indian occupation. Kashmir is lifeline of Pakistan and partition of the sub-continent remains incomplete without Kashmiris being given the birth right of self-determination.
Observance of another Black Day by the Kashmiris on 27 October may awake the conscious of international community towards India’s continued forcible occupation of Jammu & Kashmir. Once lingering Kashmir issue is resolved according to the aspirations of the Kashmiris themselves hopefully there will be good neighbourly relations between India and Pakistan.

Is UN alive?
The United Nations was founded on October 24, 1945 after failure of League of Nations for preventing outbreak of World War-II. It was established to maintain cooperation, harmony, peace and stability, friendly-relations and truce among the Nations. The Security Council is United Nations’ most powerful body. It has five permanent members – US, UK, Russia, France and China – who have been granted ‘veto power’ to thwart any resolution. Unfortunately; this ‘veto power’ was/is being (mis)used in case of Kashmir, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Crimea, Rwanda, Middle East and global terrorism started by Uncle Sam after 9/11-self-destructed-show which was/is crystal-clear to the world since then!!
Moreover, many Western countries are supporting proxy wars – divide & rule – so that their arm-manufacturing-factories remain funtional and to maintain their influence over the weak. Thus, the UN is being misused by veto-wielding powers – especially with regard to destruction of Muslims. Note it! If (we) intend to maintain peace and harmony then UN’s Charter must be amended for inclusion of at least “one Muslim country in UNSC” on the basis of population, resources.
It is also appropriate time to stop pervading sense of cynicism born out of perceived selectivity and bias in working of United Nations. Unilateral actions in gross violation/s of Security Council’s resolutions have also threatened international order, credibility and legitimacy. Plebiscite was/is not agreed in Kashmir by UNSC through dozen-resolutions, even then, lying in waste-bin of UN – because of Muslim State and intends to join Pakistan according to principle of partition of Hindustan(??). Pakistan is compelled to remain the voice of Kashmiris at all cost on all forums. Certainly; due to injustices going on at UN platform; this planet has became (Hell for living beings!). So; everybody is compelled to say – Is UN alive?

Why feudal lords resist education?
Sometimes, when I sit calmly and ask a question to myself as to what is the basic reason behind the massive illiteracy in Pakistan; my mind very abruptly and sharply gives the reply of such question. And, the reply is that the lack of political will has been the supreme cause of massive illiteracy in our country. Now, again question arises as to why political will is wanting regarding improving dilapidated education system of our country? Again, there is a very simple answer of this complex question. Right from the inception of Pakistan till today, it is the feudal lords who have ruled this country directly or indirectly. During all these 72 years, these feudal lords have kept their masses under their toes all the times for their vested political, economic and social interests.
These feudal lords have completely failed to remove illiteracy and raise educational standards in the country not because they have not been given chance for the same but because they did not, at all, want to give priority to education. Now again question arises as to why our feudal lords have not focussed education during their tenures? Again, the answer is simple and understandable that by educating the whole nation on a large scale they do not want to lose their influence and awe that they have maintained in their areas.
