The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized a conference at its office in Islamabad to pay homage to the martyrs of Chota Bazaar, Srinagar, on their martyrdom anniversary.
According to Kashmir Media Service, on this day in 1991, after an alleged clash with some unknown attackers at Zainakadal in the city, Indian troops had resorted to indiscriminate firing all the way from their camp at Syed Mansoor to Chotta Bazaar in the densely populated downtown area of Srinagar.
At least 32 innocent Kashmiris were martyred and 22 others were injured in the brutal action of the troops.
Addressing the conference, the Hurriyat AJK leaders strongly denounced the genocide of Kashmiris, destructions of property, harassment of people including women and children after barging into residential houses by Indian troops. They deplored that Indian troops have made the life of the people of IIOJK miserable.
They said that the troops were snatching the life of innocent Kashmiris and the killing spree was going on unabated.
The speakers said by killing innocent youth, India cannot suppress the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people.
They said the unrelenting military siege and corona lock-down have aggravated the humanitarian crisis in the occupied territory.
They said that India must realize the fact that the delay in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute was leading New Delhi to destruction.
The APHC-AJK leaders expressed serious concern over the Indian atrocities on the people of IIOJK.
They appealed to the world community to take cognizance of the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in the occupied territory and play role in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute by giving the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination.
