ISLAMABAD – The federal government has assigned additional charge of health secretary to Dr Muhammad Fakhre Alam Irfan.
Alam, a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Services who is currently serving as Power Division secretary, has replaced Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood as Secretary, National Health Services Regulation and Coordination Division.
The federal government has issued a notification in this regard stating that the appointment has been made for a period of three months or till the posting of a regular incumbent; whichever is earlier, with immediate effect.
Last month, the federal government had given the additional charge of federal health secretary to Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood.
He had replaced Aslam Ghauri, who was suspended for 120 days earlier in the day following tragic fire incident at PIMS hospital that claimed lives of 14 infants.
It also issued a notification regarding suspension of Aslam Ghauri, stating the BS-22 officer of the Secretariat Group has been placed under suspension for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days in terms of Rule 5 of the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rule 2020, with immediate effect.
