83 drug pushers held, huge quantity of narcotics recovered in Abbottabad

As many as 83 drug pushers were apprehended besides recovery of huge quantity of narcotics during separate actions in Abbottabad during month of October. This was informed by District Police Officer (DPO) Zahoor Babar Afridi during a press briefing here on Monday.

Appreciating the role of Narcotics Eradication Team (NET) for dynamic actions against drug peddlers, he said that 113 kilogram hashish, 14.5 kilogram heroin, 1.5 kilogram crystal meth and 518 bottles of liquor were recovered during anti-drug operations.

DPO Zahoor Babar Afridi appealed the citizens to extend full cooperation with police and organizations engaged in anti-drug activities to clear the city of narcotics.

The district police chief urged the citizens to avoid renting their houses to elements involved in drugs business, keep a check on their surrounding and inform local police about suspicious activity regarding drugs peddling.
