TikTok in a policy statement has said that that the company is in constant touch with the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to resolve the ban issue and to come up with workable solutions, adding in the first quarter of 2021 alone, 6 million videos were removed in the country.
A spokesman for TikTok said that Pakistan is the second largest country in the global market where infringing videos have been removed.
He said that in the first quarter of 2021, 61,951,327 videos were removed globally, which represents less than one percent of all videos uploaded to TikTok. 93.1% of these videos were removed within 24 hours of uploading, he added.—TLTP
