Tribute to unsung heroes
Though a day late, on May 2nd, we extend our heartfelt tribute to Labour Day, celebrating the unsung heroes whose tireless efforts shape our nation’s progress. In Pakistan, where 82.66 million individuals form the backbone of our economy, this day holds profound significance beyond mere recognition of physical labour. It’s a day to honour the dedication of every individual contributing to the fabric of society.
Labour Day transcends boundaries, embracing not just those toiling under the sun, building structures that shape our cities, but also those who educate, heal, innovate and serve in myriad capacities. From the teacher moulding young minds to the doctor saving lives, from the employee striving for excellence to the entrepreneur daring to dream, every profession deserves acknowledgment and respect.
At its core, Labour Day is a testament to the ethos of diligence, passion and commitment. It’s a celebration of the human spirit’s resilience in the face of challenges and adversities. It serves as a reminder that no work is insignificant, for every contribution, no matter how small, plays a part in the grand tapestry of progress.
To all labourers, we offer our heartfelt appreciation and best wishes. May your dedication continue to inspire us, and may your efforts bear fruits of success and fulfilment. Happy belated Labour Day!

Pollution in Karachi Beach
Sea View Karachi, a coastal community in Pakistan renowned for its scenic beaches and recreational opportunities, faces significant pollution challenges. These issues, such as untreated sewage, industrial waste, and littering, adversely affect public health, water quality, and marine life. Despite these obstacles, Sea View remains popular, emphasizing the need for proactive measures to mitigate pollution.
Pollution in Sea View arises from diverse sources, including oil spills, plastic debris, and chemical pollutants, all posing threats to marine ecosystems. Cleanup campaigns and awareness initiatives aim to combat these problems, stressing the importance of preventive actions to protect coastal habitats.
Efforts to address pollution involve collaboration among residents, businesses, and government agencies, advocating for stricter regulations, waste reduction, and educational programs.
To ensure long-term sustainability, Sea View adopts a comprehensive approach, integrating advanced monitoring, community engagement, renewable energy adoption, and ecosystem restoration strategies. Effective regulation and enforcement measures require collaboration among government bodies, stakeholders, and the public.

1 May: A day for labourers
On 1 May, we celebrated Labour Day; but most of the working-class labourers were present at their workplaces, not at home.
The government must strictly ensure that all labourers receive a paid leave on this day and it must pass a bill to strengthen the right of labourers across the country.

City of lights
Karachi, known as the city of lights, grapples with a population nearing 18 million, leading to severe transportation challenges due to a shortage of vehicles. Mini buses, in particular, are in a deplorable state, with reckless drivers endangering passengers’ lives by speeding and engaging in dangerous races. Moreover, buses are chronically overcrowded, forcing passengers to travel on roofs, tarnishing Karachi’s image and signaling governmental neglect. Additionally, the declining transportation infrastructure not only jeopardizes passenger safety but also undermines the city’s economic vitality. Efficient public transportation is essential for businesses and industries to thrive, yet neglecting this aspect not only affects the daily lives of Karachiites but also stunts the city’s growth potential. Urgent action is imperative to address these pressing issues and prioritize the welfare of Karachi’s residents.
