13th Annual Port & Shipping, Logistics & Supply Chain Management Summit & Exhibition has been organised which was attended by business partners across the Port & Shipping, Supply Chain and Logistics industry to engage in high-level networking, interactive panel discussions and to collaborate on the sector’s most thought-provoking issues and challenges.
In the summit, Khurram Aziz Khan, CEO KGTL says that economic cooperation has been a cornerstone of the UAE-Pakistan relationship and Abu Dhabi Ports is leading by example with the establishment of Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited – container terminal operating at Karachi Port. AD Ports Group will undertake significant investments in Karachi Port by not only expanding the terminal area but also targeting to expand and improve the port infrastructure. The development works will include deepening of berths, achieving deep draft of 14.5m and similarly, AD Ports Group is working to develop a new turning basin to handle 355m LOA vessels.
This will create wider array of opportunities for the shipping industry. Through these initiatives and investments, AD Ports Group is postively impacting Karachi Port’s terminal infrastructure making it a key logistical hub for trade and strengthening bilateral ties between the UAE and Pakistan, thereby facilitate the Blue Economy of Pakistan .
