118 candidates to contest election in Badin

General elections are scheduled in Pakistan on 8 February 2024 (Thursday) to elect the members of National and Provincial Assemblies in district Badin. A total of 118 candidates have entered the electoral arena, reflecting a diverse mix that includes 07 women individual candidates. The breakdown of candidates reveals that for the 02 constituencies NA 222 (Matli, Talhar and TandoBago) and NA 223 (Badin and ShaheedFazilRahu) of the National Assembly, there are 27 men and 02 women candidates representing various political parties in district Badin.

The overall count of candidates competing for the 05 General Seats of the Provincial Assembly stands at 89. Among these contenders 84 are men and 05 are women individual candidates, emphasizing a diverse representation in the democratic process. The diverse range of candidates signals an active and dynamic political landscape as the district approaches the crucial electoral event in 2024.

According to District Returning Officer/Deputy Commissioner Badin, Abdul Fatah Hulio, there is a total of 1947081 population of district Badin according to census 2023 and the total registered votes are 942176 among 506009 men and 436167 women voters with segregation of votes Taluka wise are PS-68 Badin-I (Matli) there are 192570 votes are registered among 103518 men and 89052 women when in PS 69 Badin-II (Talhar) there are 195864 votes are registered among 104701 men.
