On the occasion of the day of martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (AS), the ancient central procession of the city of Lahore came out from Mubarak Haveli inside the Mochi Gate and passed through 5km long traditional routes and reached Karbala Gamay Shah.
The Tazia of the central procession of the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (as) was taken out from inside the Mochi Gate inside the Mubarak Haveli on the night of the 21st of Ramadan.
The procession passed through Hasina Hall and adjoining streets and reached Chowk Nawab Sahib and from there reached Nisar Haveli, 4th Mufti Baqir and Masjid Wazir Khan.
Where a large number of mourners were already present, the mourners continued to lament.
The main procession reached Rang Mahal Chowk, Paniwala Talab and Chowk Naw Gaza from Wazir Khan Mosque via Golden Mosque, thence through Tarnam Cinema Chowk, Bazaar Hakeeman, Tehsil Bazaar, passing through the high mosque and passing through Bhatti Darwaza to Karbala Gamay Shah.
Strict security arrangements were in place throughout the procession and thousands of security personnel were on duty.
Officers of other departments including district administration personnel were also present with the procession.
