Yorkshire Literacy Award was awarded to two literary personalities from different cities of Pakistan at 14th International Urdu Conference on Sunday. Those who got the award included Prof. Ghazi Alumuddin and Seema Ghazal.
The session was presided over by Ghazal Ansari while Shahida Hassan officiated. Aftab Muztar, Fatima Hassan, Dr. Ansari, and Seema Ghazal’s son Osama expressed their views on this occasion.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Fatima Hassan said that the team of Yorkshire Literary Forum was the beehive from which everyone benefits. “They acknowledge the greatness of literary personalities not only in Karachi but all over the country.”
Shahida Hassan stated that our class was the most sensitive class which consists of ambassadors of art and culture, she added, “Factors such as art and culture keep society alive. But unfortunately, we did not do anything at the government level. We are all working individually.” She furthered “This work can only be done by those who are aware of it. We are in dire need of such charitable works.” Seema Ghazal Award was received by her son Osama.
Acting as the director, Ghazal Ansari said that he was grateful to the President Arts Council Ahmad Shah for giving us this opportunity every year and we were able to do it.
