Cricketer Yasir Shah’s friend escaped from Islamabad’s district and sessions court after his pre-arrest bail application was rejected in a sexual assault case on Monday.
Last month, Shah and his friend Farhanuddin were booked in a case pertaining to the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. The hearing on the bail plea was held on Monday. Additional District and Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani after hearing the arguments rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of the accused.
Subsequently, Farhanuddin fled from the court room while the police failed to arrest him.
According to the FIR, the aunt of the teenager told the police that she went to meet Shah, who was her acquaintance, along with her niece in Lahore.
She said two or three months after returning, her niece seemed “unwell and disturbed”.
The girl told her aunt that Shah’s friend Farhan took her mobile number. The victim said that after being in contact on phone with Farhan for a few days she became friends with him. She said Farhan also established her contact with Shah on WhatsApp.
The FIR noted that on her return from tuition on August 14, Farhan took the 14-year-old to an apartment in Islamabad’s F-11 area and sexually assaulted her on gun point and filmed her.
