Police have begun work to create a Witness Victim Protection Unit the decision came after the photos of the victim’s car were leaked and most of the evidence was distorted in Motorway rape case few weeks back. The federation has also started setting up a National Emergency Helpline.
The police investigation into the incident of rape of a woman on the motorway has revealed that important evidence has been distorted.
The Witness Victim Protection Unit will include representatives from the Forensic Science Agency and the prosecution, including the police. The purpose of creating the unit is to activate and improve the Witness Protection Act. The purpose of the unit is to keep the identity of the victim secret.
On the other hand, after the motorway tragedy, the federal government also started setting up the National Emergency Helpline. Prime Minister Imran Khan assigned this task to the PM Delivery Unit. In case of any emergency, there will be an emergency helpline number for the whole country.
In case of any emergency, a specific number will be available to the public.
The Prime Minister directed to complete the establishment of National Helpline Number in two months, all the emergency helpline numbers of the country will be connected to the new system, National Emergency Helpline number will be toll free, from National Helpline number Immediate help of a citizen will be possible in case of any emergency.
