Famous Pakistani business magnate Ali Shekhani has announced to buy K-Electric, the only power supplier of the country’s financial hub.
Shekhani, the US-based business magnate, made the announcement in a social media post shared by by JDC Foundation as he expressed desire to acquire K-Electric Supply Company to end Karachi’s prolonged power outages amid scorching weather.
The business tycoon lamented prolonged load shedding as Karachi is experiencing an unprecedented rise in fatalities, data shared by relief agency, amidst ongoing extreme weather conditions.
Edhi Foundation rescue agency noted a surge in bodies received, totaling 568 in the city from June 21 to June 25, compared to an average of around 40 per day.
Ali Sheikhani buying K-Electric?
Sheikhani clarified his motive for buying K-Electric was to serve Karachi’s people rather than seeking financial gain from it. People are now thanking Mr Sheikhani for his gesture.
For the unversed, the business is chairman of Sheikhani Group that focuses on rapid expansion across various sectors including retail, gas stations, shopping complexes, construction, and food chains.
