The World Health Organisation (WHO) said countries may have to lockdown again as Covid-19 cases continue to spike worldwide.
Speaking at a virtual conference in Geneva, the Executive Director of WHO’s Emergencies Programme Dr Michael Ryan said we all want to avoid another lockdown but that may be the only solution.
“Once lockdown ends, there is always a risk that the disease could bounce back,” he noted. The WHO asked countries to open slowly, pay close attention to data and proceed cautiously as they resume day-to-day activities.
