Weather update for Lahore, Punjab; more rains, gusty winds expected

LAHORE – More rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Sunday evening/night and Monday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen on Monday evening/night. A westerly wave will likely approach upper parts of the country on Monday evening/night.

Under these weather conditions, more rains and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Attock, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Narowal and Sialkot on Sunday evening/night and Monday. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39-41°C on Monday and 40-42°C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in Lahore and at isolated places in Punjab during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Bhakkar remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Maximum temperature in Sahiwal was recorded at 43°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 53 per cent.
