ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall of varying intensities for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Wednesday evening/night and on the following day.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is prevailing over upper parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected in twin cities, Potohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Wednesday night and Thursday.
Hailstorm is also expected at isolated places during the period.
Smog/fog is likely in central/southern parts of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 08-10 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 07-09 C on Thursday.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 11-13 C on Thursday and 09-11 C on Friday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 05 C below the freezing point.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 94 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 11 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 72 per cent.
