Wahab opens Urban Forest project

Sindh government’s Spokes-person and Adviser on Law to CM Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated Urban Forest Project in Shah Faisal Town on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Korangi Shehryar Memon was also present at the occasion. Talking to media after opening the project, the adviser said that Urban Forest is severely needed, adding, “We have to play our part in improving our environment.” Wahab planted Neem and Rose saplings at the site. He advised the people, “Make it your responsibility to take care of them by planting urban plants.” The adviser narrated that a year ago, Chief Minister Murad Ali, Nasir Hussain Shah and ministers came here. There used to be a wedding hall here. The area was misused. There was a lot of garbage on this green belt. The Chief Minister directed to clear it. At that time DMC was owned by some sensitive people. They did not pay any heed to the instructions. Now the government officials cleaned it up. “I applaud their action.” He said that the Chief Minister directed Nasir Hussain Shah to make urban forest here. 13,000 plants have been planted The people of Korangi would see a welcome change these days.
