Empty threats
Imran Niazi is huffing and puffing these days. His threats are now increasingly empty. He is no revolutionary. Yesterday he was again threatening to expose the conspirators. Why is he afraid to expose the so called ghaddars? He has also dared those pushing him against the wall that he will tell us what and how it happened. What does he think we don’t know? We know with certainty how was it all choreographed to ensure he gets a playing ground devoid of opponents and all umpires with him.
We know how in 2009 the head honcho of the spooks decided to prop him up. There was a glitch but come 2014 Niazi and the Friar TuQ conspired in London under supervision to launch a dharna. A dharna orchestrated and paid for. Next the TLP was used to make the federal government look like pussycats. Then Niazi threatened to lock down the country unless the government was thrown out.
A pliant judiciary led by the midget CJ decided to oblige. Then his candidates for parliament were selected. The RTS was made ineffective. Results say from within a city like Lahore took 3 days to reach the ROs. Thereafter some of the small parties were told to support him. Niazi ruled with no fear to lose his majority in parliament. It was then his incompetence and arrogance became an embarrassment and his time like all previous PMs was up.
What else does Niazi know that we don’t? He is feeling the heat because tales of corruption especially involvement of his wife in certain shady activities has exposed his Mr Clean image. Look at this man selling expensive gifts and pocketing the proceeds having audacity to talk of exposing everyone.

Power corridor
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf quitted the power Corridor about two months ago as a result of a no-confidence motion against the PTI’s Chief and former Premier Imran Khan. After de-seating from the office, PTI leaders had waged a war against the state institutions, their political opponents in the coalition government, and their former political allies. Interestingly, a former Minister claimed that PTI has buried the politics of turncoats and has strengthened democracy and institutions.
Pakistanis usually have a short-lived memory but recalling the PTI’s 126 days long sit-in in 2014, during which party leaders provoked party youths with violence and invaded Parliament, Supreme Court and other important government buildings to pressurize the government. Party came to power with the help of electables and assaulted several institutions during its three and a half years rule including the Judiciary, Election Commission etc.
Dozens of the PTI’s parliamentarians parted their ways from the party and were ready to join their opponents in the next general election. Similarly, the so-called reformers created a constitutional crisis in the country in a bid to prolong their rule but failed due to the intervention of the judiciary. In fact, there would be no other day, when PTI leaders did not attack state institutions, insult political rivals and preach hatred and radicalization among the youths.
According to experts, PTI has weaponized its politics with hyper-nationalism, intolerance, and radicalization of the young generation. Currently, inflation is the main issue that is being used by the PTI to keep its politics alive in the public, though it is the result of agreements made with the IMF during the tenure of the PTI.

Declining education standards
The standard of education, at all levels, have phenomenally declined particularly over the past two and a half decades. Unfortunately, over the years education has become a commercial (profits motivated) venture in this country. The worst part is, commercialisation of education has made those responsible for imparting education (the tutors) utterly materialistic. For them money takes precedence over everything else.
The greed for money compels them (the visiting faculty in particular) to teach at several institutions at a time. Naturally, therefore, they cannot do full justice to the vital task of imparting education assigned to them at any of the institutions where they are engaged in teaching simultaneously.
This is indeed a highly detestable situation, and must not be permitted to continue under any circumstances. In fact, it should be deplored vociferously by all. Those at the helm of governance in this country must take immediate and serious cognizance of this grave issue of immense national significance. No one should be allowed to play with the destiny of this nation, not at any cost.
