Women considered sex objects

Rape is one of the major problems faced by women today. It is a huge issue that plagues the world. It is a worldwide issue and is not specific to any one country. Rape also can impact anyone at any time. It is not specific to any one neighbourhood, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or financial status.
Rapes continue to happen frequently, and yet many are not reported to the police. Rape is widely thought to be the most underreported crime. There are many stigmas that go along with rape, so it makes it difficult to come forward. Also, it is sometimes difficult to prove rape when there are no physical signs. The victim may also fear being further victimized through the investigative process, so the crime is not reported.
Sexual assaults and rapes are such violent crimes that not only leave the victim physically assaulted but also emotionally traumatized or even dead. These molesters or rapists think they are strong enough to do such hideous acts and get away from them by sweeping their sins under the rug. In spite of all laws, awareness and education, these criminals are not held accountable for their evil acts.
In a country like India which is projected to be a global superpower and economically equipped, how can we live with such backwardness? Why is it that a woman’s position in our society is still considered so low that any person can insult her dignity and get away with it? Today, women are not safe in any part of the world. They are considered as sex objects by men who only want to satisfy their carnal desires. Rape is a four letter word and all men know that.

Social issues

Social issues influence people in a society, and people strive to find solution to them. Often, they are the consequences of factors extending beyond an individual’s control. Social issues are the source of a conflicting opinion on ground of what is perceived as morally correct or incorrect personal life. These social issues are exceedingly diverse because they exist within the cultural, ethnic and moral boundaries. There are disagreements around social issues that are worth solving, or that should take precedence.
Let’s open the Pandora box full of social issues faced by the country. There are some social issues in Pakistan that need to be focused on a priority basis. The great threat lies in the issues like education, honour killing, child labour, child abuse, over population, pollution, poverty, begging, unemployment, feminism, corruption, nepotism, racism and early marriage. The above mentioned problems are a few out of many and said to be great hurdle in the way of progress. We can never dream to prosper without solving them. In order to solve them, we need to be unified on one page as a nation since together everyone achieves more.

Zainab after Zainab

It was very painful to hear that another Zainab was brutally tortured and raped before being killed in Charsada area of the KP province. According to reports, she was two-and-a-half-year-old girl whose body was found in Jabba Korona area in the limits of Daudzai police station of Peshawar.
Police said that Zainab was abducted from Charsadda a day ago, was raped and slain before her body was dumped in Daudzai area of Peshawar. Zainab’s father said that “Today it is my Zainab, tomorrow another Zainab could suffer this.” I request the government to kindly give exemplary punishment to those who are involved in this heinous crime so that it may serve as a deterrent for others.
