Education

The standard of education, at all levels, have phenomenally declined particularly over the past two and a half decades. Unfortunately, over the years education has become a commercial (profits motivated) venture in this country.
The worst part is that commercialisation of education has made those responsible for imparting education (the tutors) utterly materialistic. For them money takes precedence over everything else. The greed for money compels them (the visiting faculty in particular) to teach at several institutions at a time. Naturally, therefore, they cannot do full justice to the vital task of imparting education assigned to them at any of the institutions where they are engaged in teaching simultaneously.
This is indeed a highly detestable situation. This must not be permitted to continue under any circumstances. In fact, it should be deplored vociferously by all. Those at the helm of governance in this country must take immediate and serious cognizance of this grave issue of immense national significance. No one should be allowed to play with the destiny of this nation, not at any cost.

Reforms in power sector

This apropos to the news report published in newspapers dated 1.7.2020 quoting PM Imran Khan as saying “power sector is the biggest curse for the country. They inherited huge loans in the power sector obtained during the last 10 years. He vowed embarking upon a plan of massive institutional reforms. I fully endorse the views expressed by the Premier about the pathetic conditions of power sector which, in fact, has shaken the foundations of the economy.
Bad governance, plundering, misuse of authority, unfair labour practices and lethargy are the main cause of the failure of power sector and its companies. ERP system in distribution and generation companies still could not be implemented despite repeated persuasions by the government to curb the tendency of all corrupt practices.
One can better understand the plight of the sector from two cases that how rules and policies are trampled upon. Recently BOD Pepco allowed BPS-21 to all GMs working in BPS-20 where as no posts of BPS-21 are even sanctioned which was also beyond its mandate, scope and jurisdiction thus causing huge financial burden on the companies.
As per rules the competency rests with the prime minister to allow BPS-21. Secondly all companies recently allowed at their own Rs 100,000 to 150, 000 monthly increase in the salaries of CEOs only despite the fact that Pepco and its companies are govt owned companies working under the Ministry of Energy (Power) and are being governed under national pay scheme.

Khalistan’s liberation!

India comprises minorities: Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians and Jains (…). Partition of the subcontinent in 1947 stands valid; because Hindu terrorists compelled minorities to fight for their separate homelands. US Commission on International Religious Freedom also noted – India is an intolerant and unbearable country for minorities! Though Muslims were able to have their homeland, yet other minorities are still fighting for liberation. Sikh community is on top to whom Ghandi promised for a separate State in 1947(!)
The plight of minorities in India is an open secret now. Muslims who chose to stay in India are compelled to say that today’s so-called-secular India has no place for other beliefs! Sikhism is “3rd largest religion in India”. It existed for 548 years. Their holiest shrine “Golden Temple” was destroyed badly in 1984 by Indian Army through “Operation Blue Star” in which thousands of Sikhs were crushed. Terrorist Modi has again prevented Sikh pilgrims for visiting Kartarpura Gurdwara.
And Gopal Singh Chawla, leader of Khalistan Movement, has started working for registration of Khalistan Referendum. He is also advising Sikh soldiers to leave Indian Army and join this sacred Movement! According to a report recently published in Christian Post – early 2020 remained very frightening period for Christians. United Christian Forum (also) condemned attacks on Christians and their places of worship. Report say 56 threats and 78 incidents of violence were carried out against Christians between Jan and Mar 2020. Through these skirmishes terrorist-Hindus were objecting Christians for holding their worship services.
The Dalits are also known as (untouchables). Even their shadows are not allowed to touch Hindus. But in case of rape of Dalit woman, ignore untouchablity. Enough is enough ‘Khalistan’ is ready to appear as a State on the world map!

Reopening schools is not wise decision!

As we all know that the pandemic situation is going all over the world. This is the worst time for everyone because COVID-19 has left us in a great loss. Like our health, economic and educational system is destroyed very badly. In Pakistan all schools were closed on 26 February after first case of corona was detected.
However, as number of cases grew all the educational institutions were closed; then most of the universities, colleges and schools started online classes which brought dividends to some extent. Introducing online classes was great initiative as this helps a lot to students to learn from home.
PTV also introduced online learning videos which also helped teenagers especially. Now school owners are asking to reopen schools but the thing which we and they need to understand is that nowadays where people are not following SOPs in markets how will they follow in school.
If you want to resume education system, first reopen universities because reopening universities and collages are another thing because in university and college there are adult students and they shall follow SOPs but not school. I request PM and Federal Education Minister and all concerned authorities to pay some attention towards this issue.
