ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov has arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

He was accorded a warm welcome on arrival. During the visit, Bakhtiyor Saidov will call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss bilateral ties.

He will also hold in-depth talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on a wide range of bilateral issues of mutual interest, with special focus on trade and connectivity.

The new government has put its focus on attracting foreign investment in order to drive the country out of economic challenges and improve its foreign reserves.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has confirmed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Pakistan is on cards.

Addressing a press conference, the deputy prime minister said that the dates of the Saudi crown prince will be finalized in the upcoming days.

If the visit materializes, it would mark the first bilateral visit of the Saudi Crown Prince to Pakistan since 2019.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reportedly directed for preparations for the expected visit.  It is hoped that major investment decisions worth $5 billion would be finalized during the visit.
