The United States convincingly defeated Iceland 5-0 in Frisco, Texas to capture its fifth SheBelieves Cup.

Iceland entered the game with two wins and six points to its name, needing only a draw to win the title over the United States, which had a win and a tie for four points from their games.

Catarina Macario opened the scoring with an exquisite goal in the 37th minute before adding another in the 45th. She later assisted Mallory Pugh’s second goal on her to games MVP honors.

Pugh scored in the 60th and 75th minutes to put the result beyond any doubts before Kristie Mewis completed the emphatic victory by adding the fifth goal in the 88th minute.

The match was played a day after the landmark agreement between the USWNT and the U.S. Soccer Federation for equal pay to that of the men’s team.

Under the settlement, the women are guaranteed a total of $24 million-plus bonuses by the federation to match the men, as long as a new collective bargaining agreement is reached.

The Czech Republic finished third with two points in three games after a 0-0 tie with New Zealand, which wound up fourth with one point in the SheBelieves Cup
