The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged the United Nations to shun its indifference towards the Indian brutalities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and fulfill its obligations towards resolving the Kashmir dispute by implementing its relevant resolutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the world leaders attending the ongoing 77th session of the UN General Assembly session in New York must hold India accountable for grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in IIOJK. It said that the leaders of powerful countries of the world must come forward in a big way and play their role in the settlement of the Kashmir dispute for ensuring regional and global peace.
Kashmiri journalist Ruwa Shah has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of her father and APHC leader, Altaf Ahmad Shah, illegally detained at New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail. Ruwa Shah has written a letter to the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, seeking intervention into the medical negligence faced by her father in the jail. She maintained that her father has been seriously ill since a week now and the family has no information about his whereabouts for the last two days as he has been shifted to some undisclosed location.

On the other hand, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at the Annual Coordination Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the member states renewed unwavering solidarity with the people of Kashmir and expressed full support for their struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the OIC, and the wishes of the Kashmiri people. The meeting was chaired by Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at the UN Headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the 77th Session of UNGA.
In Geneva, Kashmiri delegates during a meeting with the members of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation briefed them about the deteriorating political and human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They appealed to the OIC rights’ body to help stop Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory. The Kashmiri delegation included Altaf Hussain Wani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Sardar Amjad Yousuf Khan, Hassan Al-Bana, Dr Saira Shah and Zaffar Qureshi.
On the other hand, several Muslim organizations including Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Students Islamic Organisation, Social Democratic Party of India, Solidarity Youth Movement, Welfare Party of India, Campus Front of India, have strongly condemned the massive raids by India’s National Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate at the offices of Muslim organization, Popular Front of India, and houses of its leaders across India. In a massive crackdown, over 100 top leaders and functionaries of the PFI were arrested by the Indian agencies yesterday. Fourteen of those arrested have been booked under sedition on the charges of waging war against India.—KMS
